The company recently announced that its R&D team has developed an ingredient — Chlorella sorokiniana extracellular vesicles (microalgae exosomes) — which has passed review by the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) in the United States and has been officially registered under the International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient (INCI Name, Monograph ID: 40697).
This achievement makes FEBICO the first company in Taiwan to obtain an original INCI designation for plant-derived microalgae extracellular vesicles, and the only company in the world currently holding this INCI name. An INCI name serves as an “international passport” for cosmetic ingredients, signifying that the ingredient’s safety, source, manufacturing process, efficacy, and regulatory data have been certified, allowing it to be legally marketed in major markets such as Europe, the U.S., and Asia. This approval is particularly significant because it was reviewed by the “Biotechnology Subcommittee,” which includes experts from agencies such as the U.S. FDA, highlighting that FEBICO R&D quality is aligned with international standards.
